The center is a 1" oval silver ox open work Sacred Heart of Jesus Medal. The 2 1/4" tall silver ox ornate Pardon Crucifix holds indulgences on the reverse. The Bible tells of a jeweled breastplate worn by Aaron, brother to Moses and the high priest of the Hebrews. It contained twelve precious stones. The amethyst was the third stone in the third row. The Book of Revelations mentions these stones in the foundation of New Jerusalem. Amethyst is noted for its relation to royalty. |
