Our Lady of Fatima
Feast day is celebrated on May 13

The Blessed Virgin Mary appeared 6 times to 3 children; Lucia, Francisco, and Jacinta; between May 13 and October 13, 1917 near Fatima, Portugal.

To these children Our Lady of Fatima promised that the world would be at peace and many souls would go to heaven if Her words were heard and obeyed. She told them that God's punishment for the sin of war would be hunger, persecution of the church and of the Pope.

Over 70,000 people witnessed the miracle of the sun on Her last visit. It danced, spun, disappeared and dropped to the earth before resuming its place in the sky.

At Fatima, Pope John Paul II said; "The message of Fatima is more relevant and more urgent... than when Our Lady first appeared".

Part of Mary's message implores us all to pray the rosary daily. She said: "In the end, My Immaculate Heart will triumph. The Holy Father will consecrate Russia to Me and She will be converted and a period of peace will be granted to the world."

The Fatima Prayer
Oh, my Jesus, forgive us our sins.
Save us from the fires of hell.
Lead all souls into Heaven,
especially those most in need of Thy mercy,
Amen
