A Mother's
Prayer
I Thank Thee, Lord in Heaven above
For giving me a baby's love.
Those little arms that hold me tight,
And soft warm lips to kiss good night,
That baby talk, so soft and sweet,
And patter of those tiny feet.
I thank You for that love so true -
Those sparkling eyes like shining dew,
That silken hair and tiny nose,
The cheeks like petals on a rose,
That take my very breath away,
And make me love them more each day.
I thank you for those precious smiles,
That always do my heart beguile,
And when I tuck them into bed,
To gently kiss their sleepy head,
Dear Lord, You give my heart to know,
What makes me love my baby so.
I thank you for their loving ways,
And baby laughter when they play,
Their hearts of gold and eyes so bright -
Guide their steps, Lord, in Your light.
And thank You, Lord for blessings of,
The miracles of new life's love.
