How to Pray the Chaplet of Peace
(The Yugoslavian Grandmother's Chaplet)
The Chaplet of Peace consists of seven sets of three beads
each with one more bead next to the medal or crucifix. The Yugoslavian
origins of this chaplet are over a century old.
Begin by making the sign of the cross.
On the first bead, pray
The Apostles Creed
On each of the 7 sets of three beads, pray
1 Our Father
1 Hail Mary
1 Glory Be
As we pray the seven sets of beads, we are asked to reflect on these
seven aspects of peace
1. Peace in our own hearts.
2. Peace in our marriage, and in all marriages.
3. Peace within our families.
4. Peace in our locality or neighborhood.
5. Peace in our country or nation.
6. Peace throughout the world.
7. Peace and unity of the Holy Church.
This chaplet is followed by praying the chaplet of
Divine Mercy or the 59 bead Marian rosary. |
